- The study drug will involve a new compound being developed for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). MS is the leading cause of neurological disability in young adults and is the most common disorder of the central nervous system.
You may be eligible to apply for this study if:
Women who might wish to participate must have been surgically sterilised for at least 6 months, or have been postmenopausal for at least 1 year.
Men who might wish to participate must be willing to use a double barrier method of contraception from the start of the study and for three months after completion of the study
You must be a non smoker and not have used any nictine containing products in the last 3 months
Participants must weigh more than 70kg and have a body mass index (BMI) of 18-30kg/m2
You will not be eligible to apply for this study if:
You have received a vaccination in the last 2 months
You have been a blood donor in the last 2 months
You have any current illness
You have any acute or chronic infectious disease in your medical history
You have a history of fainting
You have any heart failure or left ventricular dysfunction in your family
You have any allergies to medication
You have history of respiratory disease
You have a history of any liver or kidney disease
You have tested positive for hepatitis B, C or HIV
You have a history of alcohol or drug abuse
